Music is an important part of any service, event or celebration and having live music performed adds a personal touch and warmth that can't be matched by an MP3 or CD player.
Live music at ceremonies, luncheons and pre dinner drinks can take many forms - instrumental, strings, vocalist, a cappella groups, roving entertainers... here are a few of our favourite options.
Tim Veldman has been a performing violinist for over two decades. Following his studies in Austria, he worked with symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles internationally, including in the Netherlands and Austria. In Australia, Tim has performed with the Melbourne Symphony, Orchestra Victoria and Tasmanian Symphony among many other ensembles. He performs regularly as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral member and as a sessional musician for film and TV.
Tim's string quartet, Quaternio, was founded in 1991. Quaterino has a broad repertoire spanning Classical, Jazz, Tango and popular
Neil can play just about anything on the Saxophone, and he adds to this keyboard and vocal skills. His ability to entertain comes naturally, and he is always happy to play requests.
Neil is available to play Solo Sax player for ceremonies, foyer music and functions. Neil is also available as a one-man-band on Keyboards/Sax and Vocals as well as working with other musicians which enables him to perform in duos, trios, and larger line-ups.
Taso - Classical Guitarist
Taso studied music at the Brisbane Conservatorium of Music, and Melbourne University, before completing his Bachelor of Music Degree at the Victorian College of the Arts majoring in Classical Guitar Performance. In 2002 he was awarded the Prestigious Austral Salon Scholarship for his achievement in excellence as a concert performer in Victoria.
In 2000 Taso also studied voice with Antonio Lancuba at the AML Golden Voice Studios, and in 2002 joined the Melbourne Opera where he performed in various productions as a tenor.
Ben Rogers Trio
The Ben Rogers Trio plays a variety of original compositions and jazz standards with influences including hot swing, folk, country and classical. Ben’s compositions draw on his many years of guitar playing across a range of styles in Perth, Adelaide, rural Victoria and Melbourne. Violinist Romana Geermans is a graduate of the Prague Conservatorium who has toured with such diverse acts as The Czechoslovak Chamber Orchestra, The Australian Pops Orchestra and Johnny Chester. The trio is rounded out by Nikki Scarlett on double bass. Their debut album Windfarms of Your Mind was included in The Best of 2011: Rhythms Magazine Writers’ Poll.
La Chaconne is a musical ensemble that caters for all occasions. It is ideal for adding to the ambience of any function where guests can hold a conversation and whilst listening to exquisite music.
La Chaconne is a trio consisting of flute, violin and cello; with a diverse and varied repertoire spanning various musical styles and genres this trio will certainly appeal to all.
We are able to vary our program and tailor it to suit most occasions. We also incorporate original compositions and rearrangements of existing pieces of music as part of our repertoire, and upon request for an additional fee.
Ginger & Tonic
Australia's Ginger & Tonic is a female a cappella group specialising in fun and original arrangements of well-known pop songs. They combine creative harmonies and textures with vocal percussion to produce a sound that is rhythmically driven and exciting.
Ginger & Tonic consists of four close friends: Emma, Sheona, and sisters Jane and Sarah, and they live in Australia's cultural capital, Melbourne. All of the members are experienced performers, all having performed in various groups or as solo performers all over Australia and internationally.
