Ginger & Tonic
Australia's Ginger & Tonic is a female a cappella group specialising in fun and original arrangements of well-known pop songs. They combine creative harmonies and textures with vocal percussion to produce a sound that is rhythmically driven and exciting.
Ginger & Tonic consists of four close friends: Emma, Sheona, and sisters Jane and Sarah, and they live in Australia's cultural capital, Melbourne. All of the members are experienced performers, all having performed in various groups or as solo performers all over Australia and internationally.
Forming in early 2010, Ginger & Tonic made their performance debut in May, 2010, at an Australian a cappella competition "Singfest", where they placed 2nd. In July 2010 Ginger & Tonic traveled to Hobart, Australia, as invited artists at The Festival of Voices, where they performed to crowds of over 2000. In September, 2011, Ginger & Tonic released their debut CD, "Shake It", which features thirteen songs all arranged by members of the group.
Ginger & Tonic's performances combine humour and creative arrangements with entertaining choreography and often a few surprises. Their next goal is to travel to Germany to participate in the International A Cappella Contest in Leipzig to share their unique take on a cappella with the rest of the world.
